Size finder

Get your size right the first time

Wrong size is the number one reason a plus-size order goes back, so this sits above everything else on the page. Two numbers and a habit gets you one clear answer.

  • Answer from your height, weight and usual size - no tape measure needed
  • Tells you what the recommended size is drafted for, in cm and inches
  • Shows the closer and the roomier option if you sit between two sizes
  • Free size exchange either way, so a wrong guess costs you nothing

This is an estimate worked out from your height and weight against our own drafted block - not a tape measure. If your measurements land outside UK 14-32 / US 10-28 we will tell you straight rather than guess. Prefer exact numbers? The chart opens below.

Size chart - what each size is drafted for (UK 14-32 / US 10-28)

Garment measurements each size is drafted to, taken from the spec.dimensions of all 33 pieces and reduced to the house block (median drafted range: bust 104-148 cm, waist 88-134 cm, hip 110-156 cm). These figures include the wearing ease built into the block - about 5 cm over the bust, 4 cm at the waist and 5 cm at the hip - so the size finder above takes that ease off before it matches your own measurements. Individual pieces differ; each card states its own range.

Between two sizes? Jersey, ponte and rib sizes take the smaller; poplin, linen and wool take the larger. Size exchange is free either way.

How to measure yourself, properly

Wear the bra you will wear with the piece, stand relaxed and keep the tape level - not pulled tight, not slid down at the back.

  • Bust - around the fullest part, arms down. If your bust is fuller at the bottom than the top, measure at the widest point rather than at the nipple line.
  • Waist - at your natural crease, the place you bend to. Do not cinch.
  • Hip - around the fullest part, usually 18-22 cm below the waist. Stand with feet together.
  • Underbust - directly under the bust, for our swimwear and bralette shapes.

Write the numbers down and use the larger one where you are between two. If your bust and hip point to different sizes, size for the hip in bottoms and the bust in dresses and tops.

Fit notes by category
  • Dresses Dresses are drafted with 4-6 cm of wearing ease over the bust. Jersey and ponte styles take the smaller of two sizes; poplin and linen take the larger.
  • Tops Tops carry the same ease as our dresses. Wrap fronts cross deeper and button plackets have a bust dart, so the front sits flat without a layer underneath.
  • Bottoms Bottoms are sized on your larger measurement of waist and hip, never the smaller. Waistbands with stretch, elastic or a drawcord close the gap between two sizes.
  • Outerwear Outerwear is drafted to layer over a jumper, so the chest is cut 8-10 cm wider than the same size in a knit. Take your usual size even if you wear a thick layer.
  • Knitwear Knitwear is cut with room through the body and the sleeve. Merino, cashmere and alpaca blends relax about 1 cm after the first wear, so the closer size also works.
  • Swimwear Swimwear is drafted on the underbust and the torso; the fit comes from the underband, not the cup. Take your usual size unless you are between sizes, then take the larger.

Still unsure? Email the piece name and your bust, waist and hip to chenzhenjun2026@outlook.com and we will answer with a size, not a maybe.

Fit help

The questions we get every week

Sizing, returns, stretch and how the wall works. If your question is not here, chenzhenjun2026@outlook.com is answered by a person who knows the block.

How do I choose my size?

Start with the size finder just above. It asks for your height, your weight and the size you usually buy, then gives you one recommendation plus the closer and roomier options next to it. Every piece here runs UK 14-32 / US 10-28, so whatever it returns is available across the whole page.

Is CALIESSA sizing the same as the high street?

Close through the bust, roomier through the waist and hip. Our house block is drafted for bust 104-148 cm, waist 88-134 cm and hip 110-156 cm across the size run (the median of all 33 pieces). Every product block lists the exact range it is drafted for, so you can compare against a piece you already own.

What if I am between two sizes?

The fabric decides. Matte jersey with 8% elastane, ponte and rib keep their shape, so they take the smaller of the two. Poplin, linen and wool have no stretch, so they take the larger. The size finder tells you which one we would start with, and either way the size exchange is free.

How do returns and size exchanges work?

30 days, free returns. Size exchange is free and it is our number one reason for returns, so we do not make it awkward. Items need to be unworn, unwashed and with the original tags attached. Swimwear and final-sale pieces are excluded for hygiene. Start the request with your order number and a couple of photos.

Will a wrap or a button front gape on a fuller bust?

Our wrap fronts cross deeper, our plackets carry a real bust dart, and the whole block is drafted on a full-figure form instead of a straight size scaled up. Nothing on this page needs a cami underneath. If a piece pulls on you, send it back and we will tell you which one to try instead.

What do the customer photos actually show?

Real customers, in their own homes and gardens, in the size they ordered. Every photo on the wall names the height and the size being worn, because a photo only helps if you know what it is showing. We ask permission before publishing and every submission is reviewed first.

Do you change body shape in the photos?

No. We do not reshape bodies and we do not crop to hide anything. Natural light, real rooms, real creases. Small colour differences between your screen and daylight are normal.

What if my size is not in the range?

Write to chenzhenjun2026@outlook.com and we will tell you honestly whether a piece will work on you, and which one. Our sizing runs from a drafted bust of 104 cm up to 148 cm, and a few pieces reach further - the Asta sweater is drafted to a 164 cm chest and the Mira empire maxi has a free waist from 88-136 cm. We would rather say no than send you something that sits in a drawer unworn.
